Together with Chinese 3D graphic designer Hongyi Hu we have designed our own standard alphabet. Blocks & Balls is the ultimate evolution of some flat vector letter illustrations manufactured a while ago. We contacted Hongyi Hu with the aim of satisfying our curiosity about how such flat designs would look as if they were turned into a 3D digital design. The final results are a set of letters halfway between Memphis Design, futuristic architectural brutalism, and bold and surreal sculptural balances.
